WHY OREGANO OIL

Six ways it earns its place in the cabinet.

Immune response support

Every September the same thing starts. This is what you add to the routine before it does.

Respiratory health

The scratch at the back of your throat in week one of November. Keep this in the cabinet.

Gut flora support

Wild oregano supports a balanced gut environment and healthy microbial flora.

Antioxidant support

76.44% carvacrol is one of the most studied natural phenolic compounds in the plant kingdom. That number doesn't happen without choosing the right source.

Seasonal resilience

You don't reach for this when you're already sick. You take it so that getting sick is rarer.

Healthy inflammatory response

Daily support for your body's natural inflammatory processes, taken consistently through the seasons.

Extremely happy with the quality and concentration. Especially the Manuka Honey and Oregano Oil. I take both regularly.

Excellent products made with nothing but the highest quality ingredients. Our family enjoys the Raw Manuka Honey, and we always have Oregano oil on hand!

Questions, answered.

Why does the carvacrol percentage matter, and why don't most brands print it?

Carvacrol is the primary active compound in oregano oil. The percentage tells you how concentrated your bottle actually is. Many products don't disclose the number at all — there is no requirement to, which means buyers who don't know to look for it won't notice the omission, and sellers with an unremarkable figure benefit from the silence.

This label prints 76.44% because it is the number that separates a real product from one that sounds like one. If our figure were lower, we would not lead with it.

What does "wildcrafted" actually mean, versus cultivated?

Wildcrafted means the oregano was harvested from plants growing in their natural habitat — rocky, dry Mediterranean terrain — rather than farmed. Wild plants grow under harsher conditions and produce higher concentrations of their compounds as a result. Carvacrol is one of them. Cultivated oregano is grown for yield or flavor under gentler conditions, and tends toward lower carvacrol content.

Wildcrafted and organic are two different questions. This oil is both. Wildcrafted explains the carvacrol level. Organic certification — through Oregon Tilth, USDA — covers how the plant was grown and how the oil was processed. Both are on the label because both matter.

Why olive oil as the carrier, and not alcohol?

Carvacrol is fat-soluble. It binds and delivers more effectively in an oil-based carrier than in alcohol, which is why oil of oregano products use a carrier oil rather than an alcohol tincture. Organic extra virgin olive oil is the right choice here: it carries the concentrate stably, adds its own phenolic compounds without synthetic additions, and holds up in water or juice in a way some other carrier oils don't.

Alcohol-based tinctures are a different format for different uses. For daily oral use, the oil form carries the concentrate more cleanly — and without adding the burn that alcohol brings to an already-intense product.

What does it taste like, and what should I do if it's too strong?

Strong. Hot. The heat of a high-carvacrol concentrate is noticeable, and the oregano bite lingers for a few minutes. Some people describe the first time as medicinal.

What works: citrus juice is the best mixer. The acidity cuts through in a way plain water doesn't. Starting with fewer drops than the label suggests makes sense if you're new to it. Most people find the taste gets easier quickly and stop thinking about it. Some mix it into juice every single time, and that's a fine way to take it.

What doesn't work well: taking it straight on an empty stomach if you're heat-sensitive. The olive oil carrier softens it somewhat, but the concentrate is still concentrated. You won't be surprised twice.

What does USDA Organic via Oregon Tilth actually certify?

Oregon Tilth is one of the oldest USDA-accredited organic certifying agencies in the country. USDA Organic certification through them means no synthetic pesticides, no synthetic fertilizers, no GMOs, and no prohibited substances in the farming or processing of this oil — the full supply chain, not just the finished product.

What it does not certify is potency. Organic certification says nothing about carvacrol percentage — that is a separate measurement. Oregon Tilth covers how the oregano was grown and processed. The 76.44% carvacrol tells you what ended up in the bottle. Both matter, and they answer different questions: certification tells you what was kept out; the disclosed percentage tells you what got in.
